ZOA Uganda is hiring 10 Research Assistants (5 in Elgon, 5 in Lango) to support a KAP Survey under the Agricultural Governance Results Improvement Project (A-GRIP).

This is a short-term, entry-level opportunity ideal for freshers looking to gain field research experience in development work.

In Uganda, ZOA runs programs in food security, WASH, education, peacebuilding, and land rights, with offices in Kampala, Arua, Kiryandongo, and Amudat.

Assignment Details

• Role: Research Assistants (KAP Survey)
• Number of Positions: 10
• Duration: 1 Week Assignment
• Start Date: May 2026
• Duty Stations: Alebtong, Lira, Bulambuli, Kapchorwa, Bududa, Mbale

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in training and orientation
• Conduct field interviews and administer surveys
• Collect and upload data using Kobo Toolbox
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and data integrity
• Engage respondents and manage informed consent
• Conduct key informant and in-depth interviews
• Transcribe qualitative data
• Provide daily progress updates to team leaders
• Report field issues and ensure ethical data handling

Requirements (Fresher-Friendly)

• Minimum UACE certificate or equivalent
• Strong communication skills
• Basic understanding of data collection (quantitative & qualitative is a plus)
• Fluency in English (knowledge of Langi or Lumasaba is an added advantage)
• Ability to work independently under deadlines
• Must be resident in or familiar with the target areas
