About the Organization

Uganda Bureau of Statistics is a statutory government body mandated to coordinate, monitor, and supervise Uganda’s National Statistical System. UBOS is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and publishing reliable national statistics.

Job Summary

The Field Interviewers will support the Uganda National Household Survey (UNHS) through effective data collection and reporting activities under the supervision of assigned statisticians.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in all required training sessions.
• Locate assigned households and conduct interviews.
• Collect data accurately within designated areas.
• Properly handle and return field equipment and materials.
• Report challenges encountered during fieldwork.
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications

• Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).
• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least a Credit in Mathematics and English.
• Certificate in Computer Applications is an added advantage.

Experience Required

• At least 1 year of continuous data collection experience.

Skills & Competencies

• Good computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Report writing and problem-solving skills.
• Professionalism, integrity, and teamwork.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle difficult situations tactfully.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
